This year HSC and Equivalent exam were held under eight general Education Board and two specialized board. The bords are Dahaka, Rajshahi, Chittagong, Jessore, Barishal, Comilla, Sylhet and Dinajpur, Madrasah and Technical Board. HSC Exam was run from 2 April to 13 May 2018. Except for Bangla 2nd paper, English 1st and 2nd papers all the question were made in creative question method. The question paper will be identical for all the eight education boards. The MCQ exam was taken first then the written exam was held. There was 10 minutes interval between the MCQ and Written exam.

This year about 12 lakhs students appeared at HSC Dakhil and HSC Vocational examination. Last year overall HSC Exam Result was not up to the mark. Both the pass rate and GPA were decreased. Last year a total 11 lakh 63 thousand and 330 students took part in HSC & Equivalent Exam. Among them 8 lakh 1 thousand and 711 candidates passed the exam. In ten boards the pass rate was 68.91. A total 37 thousand and 969 students got GPA 5.00 last year.
